atta/kanik(whole wheat flour) ladoo
Ingredients
atta/kanik/whole wheat flour - 1 cup
powdered sugar - 1 cup
ghee/clarified butter - 3/4th - 1 cup
cardamom powder - 1/4th teaspoon
cashew nuts and almonds as desired
Recipe
1. Melt ghee in a saute pan and add aata/whole wheat flour. Mix well and keep stirring continuously for 12-15 minutes over low flame until you get nice aroma and light brown color.
2. Remove from heat and set aside to cool down. No need to cool down completely. Add sugar, cardamom powder, cashew nuts and sliced almonds when warm, mix well.
3. Take a little of mixture in your hands (slightly greased) and clamp your hands along with the mixture to tighten it and make small balls. When done store in an airtight container.
Note
Add ghee/clarified butter to the mixture if you find difficult to make balls. Ghee acts as binding agent which helps ladoos to retain the shape.
