Bread patties
Ingredients
potatoes - 3 medium sized, boiled and mashed
bread - 5-6 pieces
onion - one forth cup
ginger-garlic paste - one half tablespoon
green chillies - 4-5
cilantro - one half cup, chopped
lemon juice - one half tablespoon
gram flour - one cup
turmeric powder - one half teaspoon
salt to taste
red chili powder - one half tablespoon
ajwain / carom seeds /owa - one teaspoon
water - enough for gram flour batter
vegetable oil for shallow- frying
Recipe

Mash boiled potatoes. Make a paste of onion, green chillies, cilantro and ginger-garlic , then add the paste to mashed potatoes. Also add lemon juice and salt. Mix well.
Make a batter of gram flour adding enough water, salt, turmeric , red chili powder and ajwain/carom seeds. The batter should be thick and of pancake consistency.

Cut bread diagonally, spread the stuffing on one slice of bread and cover with other, pressing tight. Dip it in the batter of gram flour and shallow fry.

Serve hot with ketchup and coconut-cilantro chutney.
