Lassi, a traditional and popular drink of India, originated in Northern India (Punjab) . It is easy to make and delicious to taste. It is prepared by blending plain yogurt (curd)  along with chilled milk, water, cumin powder, salt and sugar.  You can make fruit lassi  adding fruit pulp or juice, such as mango lassi, pineapple lassi. Lassi is refreshing as well as  satisfying. A tall glass of lassi on a bright sunny day is perfect to boost your energy and spirits too!

Sweet lassi

Ingredients

plain yogurt - 1 cup
water - one half cup
chilled milk - one fourth cup
sugar - 2 - 3 tablespoons or as desired
salt a pinch
crushed ice or ice cubes

Recipe

Blend all ingredients till you get a frothy surface. Pour into a glass and serve chilled.
 
 
 
Salted lassi
 
Ingredients

plain yogurt - 1 cup
chilled milk - one half cup
water - one half cup
salt to taste
sugar - 1 tablespoon
cumin seeds powder - one taspoon
crushed ice or ice cubes
mint leaves - 4-5 (optional)
 
Recipe

Blend all ingredients till you get a frothy surface. Pour into a glass and serve chilled.
 
 
 
Mango lassi
Ingredients
plain yogurt - 1 cup
chilled milk - one half cup
water - one half cup
sugar - 1 tablespoon
mango pulp or juice - one fourth cup
crushed ice or ice cubes
pistachios to garnish
 
Recipe

Blend all ingredients till you get a frothy surface. Pour into a glass , garnish with sliced pistachios and serve chilled.
