spinach with gram flour
(palakachi bhaji)
Ingredients
spinach - 1-1/2 cups
vegetable oil - 1 tablespoon
mustard seeds - 1 teaspoon
turmeric powder - a pinch
asafoetida (hing) - a pinch
red chili powder - 1 teaspoon
gram flour - 2 tablespoons
salt to taste
Recipe
1. Heat vegetable oil in a saute pan. As soon as the mustard seeds start popping ,add turmeric, asafoetida. Then add thoroughly washed and finely chopped spinach. Saute for a couple of minutes. Cover with a lid and cook for 4-5 minutes. Sprinkle a little bit of water if necessary for cooking.
2. Add salt, red chili powder and gram flour, stir well as adding gram flour may form lumps. Dissolve all lumps and cover for a couple of minutes. Serve hot with roti/chapati.
