Ingredients
 
potatoes - 1 cup, peeled and diced
green peas - 1 cup, fresh or frozen
onion- one half cup, sliced
green chillies - 2-3
ginger-garlic paste - one teaspoon
cilantro - one fourth cup, chopped
tomato - one and half cups, chopped
turmeric - a pinch
sugar - one half tablespoon
red chili powder - one half teaspoon
water - enough for cooking potatoes
salt to taste
 
 
Recipe
 
1. Make a puree of  tomatoes adding green chillies, cilantro and ginger-garlic paste.
 
2. Heat vegetable oil, add mustard seeds. When mustard seeds starts popping out, add turmeric and sliced onions, saute till the onions turn light brown. Then add tomato puree  and saute for 4-5 minutes. Also add diced potatoes, water, sugar, red chili powder and salt to taste. Cover and cook.
 
3. When potatoes are almost cooked, add green peas. Cook for 2-3 minutes  and serve with roti/chapati or jeera fried rice.
