Ingredients
 
gram flour/besan - 1 cup
coarse semolina/rava - 4 tablespoons
powdered sugar - 1 cup
ghee/clarified butter -  3/4th - 1 cup
cardamom powder - 1/4th teaspoon
raisins as desired
roasted cashew nuts as desired
 
 
Recipe
 
 
1. Melt ghee/clarified butter in  saute pan, add gram flour/besan and semolina/rava. Cook it slowly for 15/20 minutes over low flame stirring continuously  Keep stirring until the color of besan changes to golden brown and nice aroma of cooked gram flour.
 
2. Remove from heat and set aside to cool down. No need to cool down completely, when warm add powdered sugar,cardamom powder and mix well.
 
3. Take a little of mixture in your hands (slightly greased) and clamp your hands alongwith the mixture to tighten it and make small balls.  While making each ball, add raisin and press tightly. When done store in an airtight container.
 
 
Note
 
Semolina/rava gives texture to ladoos and also tastes very delicious.
 
Add ghee/clarified butter to the mixture if you find difficult to make  balls. Ghee acts as binding agent which helps ladoos to retain the shape.
