shrimp curry
Ingredients
shrimps - 15-20 small/large precooked peeled shrimps, tail on
onion - three fourth cup , finely chopped
ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
garlic - 2-3 cloves, finely chopped/grated
coconut milk - one half cup
hot water - 1 cup
vegetable oil - 1 tablespoon
fish curry powder - 1-2 tablespoons
salt to taste
Recipe
1. Heat vegetable oil in a sauce pan over moderate heat , add chopped onion along with grated ginger and finely chopped garlic and saute for 5-6 minutes or until the onions are light brown.
2. Add fish curry powder and saute for a couple of minutes. Then add hot water and salt to taste, let it boil for 4-5 minutes. (If you want to use uncooked shrimps - add them after pouring hot water and cook for 7-8 minutes).
3. Add coconut milk, stir well. And finally add precooked peeled shrimps and cook for 2-3 minutes. Serve with steamed rice.
Tip
You can substitute shrimps with any other fish of your choice.
