tamarind/imli chutney
Ingredients
tamarind - one half cup
dates - one fourth cup
jaggery - one fourth cup
cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon, powdered
salt to taste
red chili powder - one teaspoon or as desired
water - one cup
Recipe
1. In a sauce pan, cook tamarind , dates and jaggery adding water on medium heat until tender. Remove from heat and allow to cool
2. Blend tamarind and dates mixture to a smooth paste.
3. Cook this paste adding cumin seed powder, salt and red chilli powder, bring it to boil and remove from heat allowing to cool. Refrigerate and serve with
vada-pav/bhel/panipuri.
